Counts without context mislead
The number of school-age children within a radius says little by itself. Families cross boundaries differently, traffic changes drive times, tuition narrows the addressable market, and program expectations influence whether a household is realistically reachable.
Markets are behavioral
A useful study combines drive-time territories, household characteristics, birth and migration patterns, current student origins, inquiry data, competitor positioning, transportation, tuition, and the school's distinctive promise.
The report must change a decision
Demographic intelligence should identify priority territories, grade-level opportunity, recruitment messages, transportation possibilities, program gaps, and realistic enrollment scenarios. If leaders cannot name the decision the analysis will change, the study is not finished.
LEADERSHIP ACTIONS
Put the insight to work.
- Map current students and inquiries by drive time.
- Compare opportunity by grade and community.
- Evaluate competitors by promise, program, price, and proximity.
- Translate findings into territories, messages, and enrollment scenarios.
