Professional development with classroom follow-through
Grace Harbor Christian Academy is a fictional school with 165 students and 18 faculty members. A mock faculty survey identifies two immediate needs: clearer expectations for classroom technology and a consistent educational response when students experience grief. The school selects a separately quoted Arete professional-development engagement, beginning with a focused on-site half-day session rather than trying to cover every topic at once.
The sample half-day session addresses responsible classroom technology through discussion, practice, and a shared expectations worksheet. Its published session rate is $500, with travel determined and agreed in advance. A later virtual session on classroom grief support is planned at the published $200 rate, with educational care and referral as its focus. The school and Arete agree on the audience, outcomes, materials, and follow-up before either session takes place.
In the mock follow-up, all 18 teachers complete the technology session, and 15 submit a classroom practice change at the 30-day review. Leadership uses those responses to identify questions and additional support needs. Participation and follow-through are the example measures; they are not proof of improved student achievement. The grief session does not provide diagnosis or clinical treatment, and student concerns follow the school’s established support and referral procedures.
