New Hope Christian School

A strategic plan with ownership

Fictional example. School names, enrollment figures, activities, and results are mock data created to explain Arete services. They do not describe actual clients or verified outcomes.

Board governance and strategic planning

New Hope Christian School is a fictional school with 210 students, a seven-member board, and a strategic plan containing 14 competing priorities. Its mock records show that only four priorities have an assigned owner or completion date. Leaders use Arete’s free assessment to clarify the gap between the school’s mission and its ability to carry out the plan, followed by a separately scoped governance and planning engagement.

In the sample engagement, Arete facilitates discussion of board and administrator responsibilities, available resources, and the decisions that require immediate attention. The school narrows its first-year agenda to three priorities: enrollment stability, faculty support, and facility planning. Each receives an accountable owner, milestones, a budget assumption, and evidence for review. The deliverables are a practical three-year outline, a 90-day action sequence, and a concise board dashboard.

At the illustrative first quarterly review, all three priorities have named owners and documented milestones, while two of the three initial milestones are complete. The unfinished milestone remains visible with its obstacle and next decision. These mock results demonstrate a more usable review process; they do not establish academic or financial success. The school’s board retains its governing authority, and leadership remains responsible for execution.
